Welcome to Furpi ("Furpi," "we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and website located at furpi.app (collectively, the "Platform"). Please read this policy carefully. If you disagree with its terms, please discontinue use of the Platform.

When you create a profile, certain information is visible to other users. Pet Parent profiles display your first name and general location. Breeder profiles display your business name, about section, credentials, pet listings, and availability status. Direct messages are visible only to matched parties.
We share information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating the Platform, including:
Breeders may generate a shareable PNG profile card ("Furpi Share Card") that summarizes their kennel name, tier badge, verified credentials, and a short bio. When generated, the card is accessible at a unique public URL (e.g. furpi.app/api/breeders/{id}/share-card.png). This URL is intended to be shared by the breeder on social media, in bios, or via direct messages. Anyone with the URL can view the card without authentication. The card contains only information the breeder has chosen to make public on their Furpi profile; it does not contain contact details, pricing, or private information. Breeders may stop sharing the card at any time by removing the link from their public channels.
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Furpi, our users, or the public.
Furpi does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes. We don't currently work with ad networks, and we do not share your information with advertisers.
Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent (i.e., your phone number and your consent to receive SMS notifications from Furpi) will not be shared with any third parties for marketing or promotional purposes. This information is used solely to send you the SMS notifications you've opted into (litter alerts, waitlist updates, match reminders, and account notifications).

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or legitimate business purposes.
Furpi is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at info@furpi.app and we will delete that information immediately. Users must be at least 18 years of age to create an account on Furpi.
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), Firebase security rules restricting unauthorized data access, and secure password hashing via Firebase Authentication. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
We may send push notifications to your device for matches, messages, and waitlist updates. You can manage notification preferences at any time in your device settings or within the Furpi app under Account Settings.
Our Platform may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy and, where appropriate, by sending a notification through the app. Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
